Do You Need To...

  • Tackle your stress levels using a creative outlet
  • Enhance your self-care routine and mental health
  • Simple and guided prompts to inspire and encourage you

Hello! I'm Laura Miller and this guide is where you can start for enhancing your mental health, get rid of stress in a creative way and let go of mental overload.

Expressive and Therapeutic Art Has Been Proven To...

  • Reduce stress
  • Help the brain to produce endorphins and oxytocin (the feel good hormone)
  • Encourage cognitive abilities like problem solving, creativity and memory
  • Encourage self-awareness and self-esteem
  • Build emotional resilience

I struggled with hard emotions for years until...

After facing some tough life altering situations, I floundered in an ocean of emotions not feeling sure of where to express them.

I was searching for a healthy way to be healed, something that would enable me to process the deep seated emotions I was encountering in my life. Something that would build confidence and hope in me again.

My love of art seemed to be a place I continually turned to regain emotional stability. I began using art as a safe and effective method to release my pent up emotions and find healing.

I went on to become a professional artist and use artwork to encourage other people to enhance their mental health through creative expression.

This is the work I do today and how I want to help YOU do the same in your life.

Today I have confidence, hope and healing...

Because of the steps I took to use creativity as a healthy and healing outlet, I was able to find the emotional expression I needed and create a confidence and hope for the future I didn't have previously.

YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!

I invite you to take a step with me and begin your creative and healing journey using my simple guide to start drawing with charcoal.

Your mental health will benefit from the creative prompts, guidance and encouragement I provide you throughout this guide.

Charcoal is a great way to get started with expressive drawing because of its soft and blending nature. It is versatile and can be used to create dark hard lines or soft and blurred smudges.

This is a great place to start your creative mental wellness journey!

I have helped many people find healing through the arts...

  • Through local and online therapeutic and expressive art sessions
  • By sharing the knowledge I have gained as a professional artist and in my own personal experience using expressive art for mental health.

In this guide you will find...

  • Guided prompts for each excercise that will show you step by step how to work
  • Follow along with helpful photos of how to draw each excercise
